ANIME

10. Ao Haru Ride (Blue Spring Ride)

Despite being a fairly recent anime, Ao Haru Ride stands out as a great romance show that conforms to current standards. The art, images, and animation were excellent. The story? It was not bad at all! It was actually very nice and well balanced. Also, the characters and their development (especially the romantic development) shone very brightly. Everything fell into place and provided a perfect combination of elements in keeping with a moving story.

After her classmates didn’t like her because of her cute girlish features, Yoshioka Futaba had to wait for her high school life to end before she could start again. Because of this, she was unable to confess her feelings to the boy she loved, Tanaka-kun. Now in high school, Yoshioka has changed her personality into something very carefree (as opposed to what she was before) so as not to repeat her experiences in high school. She soon meets her high school crush again, but under a different name. Tanaka-kun is now Mabuchi Kou, and she reveals that she liked Yoshioka in the past. But now everything has changed. Do they also have their feelings.

9. Sakurasou no Pet no Kanojo (The Pet Girl of Sankurasou)

Sakurasou no Pet no Kanojo, also known as The Pet Girl of Sakurasou, is a show that addresses love and romance on a whole new level. You will get the impression that it is just another pointless harem anime with over the top clichés and fan service, but that is totally wrong! This program demonstrates that it can be very complex, in a good way, while completely erasing initial impressions. First, it doesn’t just talk about romance, it talks about love in general. Second, the characters are surprisingly well developed, as are the plot and story. Lastly, as I said, everything is surprisingly good, so trying it is definitely a must! The combination of many great elements with romance and love produces a very good combination with this one.

As a sophomore who seems incapable of abandoning cats, Handa Sorata had no choice but to move to a place where she can take home and care for her cats. The place where he will live is called Sakurasou, a place where strangers like him end up. However, everything is quite normal, except for the fact that all the students who live there have their own strange habits and peculiarities. A few days later, a girl, who is the strangest of all (super bright but does not know how to take care of herself), will live in Sakurasou, where Sorata will take care of her.

8. Toradora!

It’s romantic, it’s comical! And sometimes even very dramatic! Toradora is a romantic anime that everyone can truly enjoy. From the beginning, the characters are quite hostile to each other until their true feelings and emotions are revealed. Everything runs perfectly here. Some elements may seem very cliche, but even those things are handled in a very brilliant way. You will be captivated by history.

Takasu Ryuuji looks like a criminal due to his intimidating eyes and looks. Aisaka Taiga, on the other hand, looks petite and gentle, but is actually as fierce as a tiger. Both Ryuuji and Taiga have their own crushes, coincidentally, for each other’s best friend. Then, when Taiga mistakes Ryuji’s bag for her best friend’s best friend’s, her secret crush is revealed. Now, Taiga tries to pulverize Ryuuji for knowing her secret, but then discovers that Ryuuji is also in love with her best friend. The two cooperate and form a pact to help each other win their respective crushes.

7. Special A

Now this is so interesting that you will be very happy to see it. Special A is another romantic comedy and drama show where the characters fall in love with each other. In this one, not only a couple of friends fall in love, but most of the characters. Each one has a story to tell, and most of the time the stories are very touching and sweet. Add that to the fact that the main couple is always fighting each other for supremacy. You will have fun with how fun they are until the moment they really develop feelings and fall in love. Until the end, Special A maintains the romantic rhythm.

Being both best friends and rivals since they were children, Hikari Hanazono and Kei Takashima have a bond where they are always scratching each other. Actually, their rivalry is one-sided, with Hikari always behind Kei. Now they are both in high school in one of the brightest and most elite special classes: Special Class A. As always, Hikari will do her best to rank Kei’s # 1 at all costs. But then, as the battle progresses, the feelings from the bottom of their hearts suddenly manifest.

6. Kimi ni Todoke (From Me to You)

This is a rare gem in the anime’s romance department. I know most won’t see it on first impressions, but as they say, don’t judge a book by its cover. Or should I say, don’t judge a romantic anime by its title, poster, or summary! Kimi ni Todoke is very unique since it shows elements that are very original for the romantic genre. And I must say, it is super effective! From the characters to the art, the sound, the story and, in its grand total, Kimi ni Todoke is a show that any seasoned romantic anime lover (or even a casual observer) will relate to and love with all their heart. . .

Known in class as Sadako due to her creepy demeanor, Kuronuma Sawako is extremely misunderstood and uncomfortable with everyone. On the other hand, Kazehaya Shouta is very popular in class and is known as a very kind and friendly guy with a really refreshing presence. Given Shouta’s personality, he is the only one who is willing to approach Sawako and speak to her, much to Sawako’s delight. It is the first time that she befriends someone and is very grateful. She feels blessed and hopeful that it is the beginning of something new.

5. Clannad

I would be surprised if you have never heard of Clannad or Clannad: After Story. These are two of the best anime dramas out there. And not only that, they are also by far two of the best romantic anime! Did you know that there isn’t even a single scene of kissing between lovers here? That is correct, there is not! But the romance and drama are high enough to completely erase it and focus on relationships. Love has never been so charming and beautiful in an anime. I can almost feel the feelings of the characters in this one.

One day, while walking to school, the discouraged Okazaki Tomoya notices a girl who suddenly murmurs the name of some kind of food. The girl’s name is Nagisa Furukawa, and unbeknownst to both of them, it is just the beginning of the love and life roller coaster where they will start as friends until they unite. But of course, no legitimate roller coaster is without success. It is just the beginning of their romantic, heartwarming, and even heartbreaking story.

4. Lovely Complex

If I can describe Lovely Complex in two words, I’d say cute and sweet! It’s in the name after all. It is an adorable and super sweet romantic comedy love story.

High school student Atsushi Otani is very short and Riza Koizumi is very tall for a teenager. Those traits really wouldn’t be a problem in themselves, but as extremes with each other in the same class, these two tend to stand out as a perfect comedy duo. Being the opposites of each other, Otani and Risa are always arguing and arguing about their own complexes. But surprisingly, they have some particular similarities that only the two of them share. So, the beginning of his very sweet, very cute, very funny, and most of all. . . very charming complex.

3. Kaichō wa Meido sama (Maid Sama)

While Kaichō wa Meido-sama! It has a simple storyline, its set of characters (especially the main characters) are so well done that they take the story far enough to shine. The characters are very identifiable and personable. Since there are so many romantic moments, there are an equal number of quirky and comical moments that come along. In general, Kaichō wa Meido-sama! is a very moving romantic comedy anime that has little or no unnecessary complexity, leading it to deliver a pure love story with its own remarkable quirks and memorable moments.

When a children’s school suddenly becomes mixed, the only foreseeable fight that will happen is that the new female students will feel intimidated and uncomfortable. Ayuzawa Misaki assumes the responsibility of being the president of the student council to rule the school with an iron fist and keep balance in place (to the disapproval of children due to her toughness towards them). To maintain her appearance as the student council president with an iron fist, Misaki has to keep her after-school job a secret. She works as a very gentle and sophisticated maid in a cafe. One day, the popular heartbreaker Usui Takumi discovers her well-kept secret

2. Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun (My Little Monster)

We have arrived at the highly anticipated revelation. I don’t know if you’ll agree with me, but in my opinion, the best romantic anime is Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun. I really encourage you to see it. Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun is fairly new, but has already reached the top. I mean, it has all the elements necessary to be a truly amazing romantic anime. He is unique, sweet (very sweet actually), cute (the love story is so adorable that it will easily move you), very healthy (which is a rarity today), and very adorable. There are many more reasons why this anime is a masterpiece, but I’ll leave them for you to discover.

It all starts when a teacher asks Shizuku Mizutani, a high-performing cold student, to hand out flyers to a student named Yoshida Haru, a student who was suspended from school. Haru is very touched by Shizuku’s delivery, claiming that only a friend would do that (although it wasn’t actually Shizuku’s intention). Shizuku is very cold and earned the nickname “Dry Ice”, while Haru is very innocent and has no idea of social activities in the world. They are both distant and strange in some way. From their first meeting, Haru feels a spark in his heart towards Shizuku, so from that moment he follows Shizuku. Very soon, they both begin to deal with blossoming feelings and emotions, as well as various colorful complications arising from their hearts

1. Golden Time

If you haven’t seen Golden Time yet, I suggest you do so now. In my opinion and I think many will agree, Golden Time is one of the most realistic romantic anime that exists today. It’s not just about being loving, it also addresses the struggles and complications of being in a relationship. In fact, the show did this by featuring very realistic characters that it could easily relate to. Even the story alone is very decent. It has romance, comedy, drama, and they all fit together to draw their hearts and show the reality of relationships and love.

Starting his life as a law student at the city university, Tada Banri is lost on his first day trying to get to school. Fortunately, he meets another boy named Mitsuo Yanagisawa who is in the same situation as him. Then out of nowhere, a beautiful girl named Kaga Kouko suddenly appears and punches a bouquet of flowers on Mitsuo’s face. Interestingly, Koukou is Mitsuo’s childhood friend who is too obsessed with him. Trying to escape her, Mitsuo enrolls in school but Kouko manages to follow him. Now Banri is caught up in the situation and he will be the one to change the course of this crazy situation.
